The Techstars Space Accelerator has revealed the 12 startups selected for its Fall Class of 2024. These companies are developing innovative solutions in the aerospace sector, with focuses ranging from quantum technology for secure communications to reusable launch systems and AI-powered satellite data processing.
The accelerator, based in Los Angeles, offers a three-month mentorship-driven program that brings together founders from across the globe. This year’s cohort includes strong representation from the U.S. and continues the program’s focus on supporting diverse and underrepresented teams—seven out of the twelve startups are led by underrepresented founders.
Here’s a look at the companies that make up the Fall 2024 class:
- Astron Systems (Oxfordshire, UK): Developing fully reusable rockets to lower the cost of small satellite launches and provide safe microgravity operations with return capabilities.
- ATRX (Huntsville, AL): Building a horizontal launch, single-stage-to-orbit spaceplane designed to take off and land on traditional runways.
- ColliMate Space (Santa Clara, CA): Creating AI/ML-powered operations software for cheaper and faster management of ground and space assets.
- Cryptosat (San Francisco, CA): Offering orbital compute and AI-driven intelligence through space-hardened GPUs, delivering real-time data directly from satellites to Earth.
- Mithril Technologies (Cambridge, MA): Developing advanced space-based reflectors with active surface correction to enhance satellite communications and climate monitoring.
- Pramatra Space (Bangalore, India): Building satellites that leverage quantum entanglement to distribute secure encryption keys, protecting enterprise data from quantum threats.
- Pulse Space (Bellevue, WA): Working on scalable, on-demand power services and space situational awareness for debris mitigation in orbit.
- reOrbital (Chicago, IL): Providing a reusable orbital platform for low-cost, efficient space access, including in-orbit operations and payload recovery.
- SkyServe (Cupertino, CA): Offering sensor-agnostic satellite data systems for near real-time monitoring and autonomous tasking across constellations.
- Space Rickshaw (Chennai, India): Developing unmanned space labs and re-entry capsules, offering modular platforms for affordable access to low and high Earth orbit.
- Spiral Blue (Sydney, Australia): Launching a satellite constellation with LiDAR-hyperspectral technology for environmental monitoring and defense applications.
