ATLAS Space Operations, a leading provider of satellite ground station services, announced it has raised $15 million in a new funding round led by NewSpace Capital with participating from existing investors, including Michigan Capital Network and Beringea. The investment will help ATLAS expand its Ground Software as a Service (GSaaS) offering and meet growing industry demands for secure, real-time data transmission.

ATLAS operates the largest U.S.-owned global ground station network, consisting of over 50 antennas across 34 stations. These stations support Low-Earth Orbit (LEO), Medium-Earth Orbit (MEO), and Geostationary Orbit (GEO) satellites. Through its proprietary Freedom® Software, ATLAS offers spacecraft operators a unified solution for efficient and cost-effective communication.

The company’s Freedom software simplifies satellite management, offering clients a single access point to its entire network. It supports automated communications, dynamic scheduling, and near real-time troubleshooting, helping operators efficiently manage complex missions.

Since its founding in 2015, ATLAS has secured a 100% contract renewal rate, highlighting its importance in the space industry. The latest funding will allow ATLAS to scale its operations and expand into international markets, including Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

NewSpace Capital led the round and expressed strong confidence in ATLAS’ mission. Martin Halliwell, a partner at the firm, noted that ATLAS stood out for its ability to solve fragmented ground communications—a key issue in the space industry.

John Williams, ATLAS CEO, noted that NewSpace Capital’s “exceptional expertise in the space industry will strongly bolster ATLAS in executing and expanding in the U.S., as well its international growth strategy in the European, Middle Eastern, and African (EMEA) markets.”
