Curvalux, a leading manufacturer of energy-efficient fixed wireless access (FWA) broadband technologies, announced it has secured a strategic investment from the Subnational Climate Fund, managed by Pegasus Capital Advisors. This partnership aims to enhance the production and delivery of Curvalux’s sustainable high-speed wireless products to communities lacking essential internet access, including those without electricity.
Curvalux offers a range of Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP) products, including high-capacity fixed wireless systems that operate in both the unlicensed 5-6 GHz frequencies (Curvalux 2) and the millimeter-wave spectrum (Curvalux 3). These systems are designed for rural areas without electricity, allowing internet service providers and telecommunication companies to extend connectivity while reducing carbon emissions. Curvalux devices use minimal power, enabling solar-powered operation and providing a green alternative to traditional 5G technologies.
Richard Pak, CEO of Curvalux, expressed excitement about the partnership with Pegasus. He emphasized the importance of providing internet access to billions of people in developing countries and other underserved areas. This collaboration aims to empower local communities through sustainable broadband access while also reducing carbon emissions from inefficient telecommunication systems.
David Cogut, partner at Pegasus Capital Advisors, highlighted Curvalux’s energy-efficient technology’s critical role in bridging the Global South’s digital divide. He noted that deploying advanced networks is essential for economic and educational development but is often hindered by electricity constraints and high infrastructure costs. Curvalux’s solutions offer a unique approach to improving livelihoods without increasing power demands, and Pegasus is proud to support its expansion to many countries worldwide.
